What are the parameters of the micro reducer

The function of the micro reducer is to reduce the speed of the drive motor and increase the output torque, which can drive a relatively large load. The parameters of the micro reducer determine the size of the driven load. The parameters of the reducer are briefly introduced below.

Micro reducer

The main parameters of the miniature reducer are speed ratio, torque, voltage, diameter, gear series, return clearance, power, no-load speed, full-load efficiency, etc.

1) Speed ratio: The speed ratio determines the output speed and torque of the micro gear motor. The larger the reduction ratio, the greater the impact on the output torque and the lower the speed. The input speed of the micro motor can be divided by the output speed of the reducer. To calculate the reduction ratio, assuming that the output speed of the micromotor is 20000 rpm, and the output speed after passing through the reducer is 200 rpm, then the reduction ratio is 20000÷200=100, which is 100:1.

2) Torque: It is also the torque, which is related to the reduction ratio. The torque shows the load capacity of the micro gear motor. If the torque is not enough, it cannot drive heavier loads.

3) Voltage: The actual voltage at both ends of the miniature geared motor is the working voltage. The higher the working voltage, the faster the speed and the increase of the current. Excessive voltage will cause the motor to seriously heat up and cause the miniature geared motor to burn out.

4) Number of gear stages: the number of sets of gears of the gear reducer. Generally, a single-stage gear cannot meet the larger drive ratio, so 2 sets or more gears need to be added to meet the drive ratio requirements. The more gear stages are added, the length of the reducer will be reduced. Longer, the reduction ratio will also be larger, but the power will decrease accordingly.

5) Return clearance: When the miniature reducer generates rated torque, there will be a small angular displacement at the input end of the reducer. This angular displacement is the return clearance, also called backlash.

6) Power: Power refers to the power of the miniature geared motor working normally under the rated voltage, and the power is closely related to the output speed, torque, current, voltage and other parameters.

7) Gear material of reducer: Gear meshing raw materials are selected according to the application environment. Common metal raw materials and plastic raw materials are used. Plastic raw materials have low noise, but the torque cannot be too large. The noise of metal raw materials will be relatively high, which can provide high torque.

8) Full load efficiency: Under the load conditions of the micro gear motor, the transmission power of the reducer, the micro reducer with high full load power has low heat generation, and the overall performance is improved.
